flatline graphics
was started as a college project on webdesign. This has been the repository for my experimentations on the web, pushing design and technology, and my mastery thereof.
This site was originally named after the flatline constructs in William Gibson's Neuromancer. Neuromancer is still one of the most influencial works about the internet, from before the internet was made. It was the originator of the term cyberspace, "a consensual hallucination experienced daily by billions."
The flatline constucts were a set of stored personalities, with free range over the net, precursers to artificial intelligence. But while truly powerful, they couldn't learn, or do anything new. They were ROM, read only. But they could be used by cyberspace users to do great things. This site is my flatline. A tool to really explore the net and its boundries.
My name is
Joseph Porto. I am a graphic designer and webdeveloper. I make stuff. This is a technology demo, and my portfolio.
I also take pictures. And do traditional art.
